Vieux-Boucau-les-Bains, a seaside resort par excellence, is one and the same beach of more than thirty kilometers, fringed with fine sand swept by the rolls of the Atlantic, majestic and powerful. Imagine a sixty hectare marine lake which is accessed by the Mail, a superb pedestrian and flowery promenade, a real gem of the resort which offers a view as breathtaking as it is sublime punctuated by its wild island.
Boats and pedal boats can dock on the island which forms a wooded area in the middle of the marine lake. A magnificent wooden boom, frequented by fishermen, of the waters and their renewal at the time of the tides. At sea, a double dyke fixes the banks of the channel. The Lake of Port d'Albret completes a hydrographic basin which includes the ponds of Moïsan and Pinsolle, the lake of Soustons which one reaches by canoe-kayak while going up the "current" of Vieux Boucau.
Ideally located, Vieux-Boucau lends itself perfectly to a car-free holiday thanks to the incredible network of cycle paths and the pedestrian promenade, all shops, services and restaurants are easily accessible. In addition, in July and August, a small free train runs in Vieux-Boucau and a beach shuttle between Soustons, Vieux-Boucau and Messanges.
